Ozone Week 2025 in Albania: From Science to Global Action

As part of the World Ozone Day 2025 celebrations, the National Ozone Unit (NOU) organized a friendly basketball match with children from Municipality Unit No. 5 in Tirana. Around 25 children, together with teachers and family members, took part in the event.
The activity blended sports with awareness-raising, showing how the global theme “From Science to Global Action” can be brought to life in everyday activities. The match created a lively and joyful atmosphere, where fair play, collaboration, and team spirit reflected the values of environmental protection.
At the end of the game, the winning team was awarded the “Ozone Cup”, a symbolic prize representing teamwork and the shared commitment of younger generations and their communities to safeguard the ozone layer and fight climate change. The event reminded all participants that just like in sports, protecting the environment requires collective effort, cooperation, and persistence.
