On 18 September 2025, the National Ozone Unit (NOU), in cooperation with Artur Sherrmani, owner of ELDIO CLIMA in Elbasan, held a working lunch with 18 technicians from the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) sector.
The meeting created an informal yet highly productive environment where participants discussed best practices in refrigerant management, the safe handling of ozone-depleting substances, and the transition toward climate-friendly alternatives. Technicians actively shared their daily experiences, raised questions, and exchanged practical insights that linked technical expertise with the commitments of the Montreal Protocol.
The discussions underscored how professionals in the RAC sector are on the front line of environmental protection: every safe installation, proper servicing, and informed choice of refrigerant contributes directly to safeguarding the ozone layer and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
This meeting embodied the World Ozone Day 2025 theme “From Science to Global Action”, showing that when knowledge and collaboration meet, science is transformed into tangible action with lasting environmental impact.
