On 18 September 2025, the National Ozone Unit (NOU), in cooperation with “Kongresi i Manastirit” School in Tirana, organized a remarkable photo exhibition as part of the World Ozone Day 2025 celebrations under the global theme “From Science to Global Action.”
The activity unfolded in two phases. The first phase, spanning two months, engaged youth and students in creating and competing with 30 original photographs. Each image carried a story — a young person’s lens capturing the fragility of the ozone layer, the urgency of climate action, and the beauty of nature that must be protected. This preparatory stage was not just a competition, but a journey of learning and self-expression, allowing participants to translate science into creativity.
The second phase culminated in the school exhibition, carefully curated under the guidance of the director, Ms. Rudina Maksuti. The halls of the school turned into a gallery where science met art, and every image spoke louder than words. Students, teachers, and visitors stopped in front of each photograph, reflecting, asking questions, and discussing the environmental messages within. The exhibition created a vibrant atmosphere of dialogue and discovery, showing how creativity can inspire society to view environmental challenges through new eyes.
This event demonstrated that photography can be a powerful educational tool. By engaging young people both in creation and reflection, the exhibition transformed awareness into a shared experience, inspiring participants to carry the message of environmental protection far beyond the school walls.
