Promoting Safety and Good Practices for Natural Flammable Refrigerants: On-Site Training Visits
27/02/2026On 20 January 2026, the National Ozone Unit (NOU), in collaboration with the Tirana College of Technology, delivered a training session entitled “Innovative Trends in Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Technologies: Equipment and System Operation”.
The training was attended by 48 students from the College.
The first part of the training focused on theoretical aspects, covering the environmental impacts of high-GWP refrigerants, the advantages and safe use of low-GWP alternatives, and the international policy framework established under the Montreal Protocol and its Kigali Amendment.
Participants were also informed about the implementation of the new F-gas legislation in Albania, including key challenges and upcoming steps related to compliance and enforcement.
The second part of the training focused on practical applications, with hands-on demonstrations to strengthen students’ technical skills in sustainable refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment and systems.
