On 16 September 2025, Metropolitan University in Tirana, in cooperation with the National Ozone Unit (NOU), brought together 40 students and four lecturers from different faculties for an inspiring event under the motto “From Science to Global Action”.
The program combined informative presentations, lively discussions, and multimedia materials on ozone protection, climate change, and international environmental agreements. Students were encouraged not only to learn about the Montreal Protocol and the Kigali Amendment but also to reflect on how these global frameworks connect to their future professional paths and responsibilities as citizens.
The atmosphere was dynamic and thought-provoking: students raised questions, exchanged ideas, and discovered how scientific knowledge can guide real change. By the end of the sessions, participants recognized that the fight against ozone depletion and climate change is not only a matter for governments and international institutions, but also a personal and professional mission for each individual.
This event reaffirmed the role of universities as platforms where science meets action, nurturing a generation of informed leaders ready to contribute to a more sustainable future.
