Training of technicians at vocational training institutions – “Kigali Amendment and Alternatives to HCFCs and high GWP HFCs”, ICT Vocational Austrian School “Hermann Gmeiner”, Tirana, 20 October 2021

This training workshop was organized by NOU in cooperation with “Gjergj Canco” Vocational School in Tirana. It was attended by 15 students of the vocational school and all of them received “Certificates of Attendance”. The activity was organized under the special support of the school principal, Ms. Hedie Gjoni. During the first part of the activity, the following issues have been discussed:

Ozone Layer Protection. Vienna Convention and Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer

Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol: HFC Phase-down

HCFC Phase-down and HFC Alternatives. Climate-friendly alternatives to HFCs and HCFCs

Managing Covid 19 and RAC&HP sector

Energy efficiency in the context of the Montreal Protocol and its Kigali Amendment

Safety Standards and risk management

Requirements and standard methods for leakage control

The second part of the activity focused on the practical training and exercises to provide a better understanding of RAC&HP systems, to improve the performance and efficiency of such systems and to apply good practices in this sector. During the second day the participants were divided into groups of 2 – 3 persons (due to anti-Covid-19 measures) and each of the technicians has done the practice with one of the trainers.
